Hello. My name is Brian Maloy and I'm the founder of Chicago Ghost Investigations.
CGI's Passport to the Other Side started off as a preview of the experience we offer, showing potential guests what they will be doing.
By demand of the thousands of guests that have passed through our one-of-a-kind experience, as well as that of those who couldnt make it to Chicago to join us, this film evolved into something greater.
In addition to providing entertainment, this film teaches viewers "need to know" insider information and techniques that are crucial in any ghost investigation. Other tours lead you to chasing shadows...usually of your own making.
Here's more about what you will see: The film begins by depicting a dramatic experience that led me into the realm of ghost research.
The film then takes a turn from a documentary perspective to reality when I take first-time ghost hunters, just like most people that go on our experience with us, and teach them my aggressive methods and strategies for conducting the research. I then set them loose in one of Chicago's most haunted sites.
The location focused on in this investigation is Tommy Guns Garage, a club that hosts a dinner experience that brings folks back in time to the roaring twenties - one of the most violent decades that Chicago has ever seen. Before and during prohibition (a time when the sale of alcohol was illegal), the location was used by Chicago's underworld bosses Al Capone, Johnny Torrio, and James Big Jim Colosimo, for their gambling, prostitution, and liquor operations.
Needless to say, the place is very haunted for both of those reasons! In the film, not only was contact made with the "resident" ghosts that regularly haunt this place, but some of the guests brought a few of their own! I usually, being facetious, refer to this phenomenon as BYOG, or Bring Your Own Ghost.
The information we obtained with this group was conclusive and brought a few tag-along skeptics a little closer to believing that we are not alone. The meters jumped, some tightening of chests was felt, and contact was made - several times!
The film is personal and intimate on all levels, from bringing viewers like you into my world, to witnessing the looks on the faces of some of the first-time ghost hunters when contact was made with the other side.
The filming of CGI's Passport to the Other Side gave something to everyone involved and I hope it will continue to enhance peoples' lives for years to come.
